Hello does not connect to wifi

I moved a nest hello from one home to another. I just want to use the camera. I will power it by using the USB port on the back. I reset the device by using a paperclip to press the hole in the back while simultaneously pressing the button on the front. I went through adding a product on the Nest App from the beginning and I cannot get it to connect to the WiFi. There are other Nest products in the home and the App shows it trying to assist. NO LUCK.

Any other suggestions??

You said "I will power it by using the USB port on the back" but the Google Nest Hello Doorbell is designed to be powered by being wired to a typical doorbell transformer.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have now connected the Nest Hello directly to the 16vac transformer. I just want to use the camera. I reset the device by using a paperclip to press the hole in the back. I went through adding a product on the Nest App from the beginning and I cannot get it to connect to the WiFi. There are other Nest products in the home and the App shows it trying to assist. I tried 3 different times. I got 3 different error codes -

NC016(4060)

NC021

NC023

Not sure why the error code are all different, but if anyone knows why I cannot connect to WiFi, let me know.

Did you press the reset button with a paperclip while ALSO holding down the big doorbell button on the front for about 10 seconds?

YES, I reset the device by using a paperclip to press the hole in the back while simultaneously pressing the button on the front. I did this more than once. Still to luck.

Thanks for posting here in the Community. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with your Nest Doorbell. Let me help you out. Have you tried the following steps: Move the Nest doorbell closer to the router, or the router closer to the assisting device, or Create another structure in the Nest and try to add the device to the newly created structure?

I have tried everything that everyone suggested. Nothing worked so I threw it away.

Not to mention that NO ONE could tell me what these error codes mean: NC016(4060), NC021, and NC023.

What's the point in having error codes if no one knows what they mean???

Hi everyone,

@Retired1, thanks for getting back to us. These errors mean that your Nest Camera couldn’t connect to your phone through Bluetooth. You’ll need to make sure that Bluetooth is working and is enabled on your device.

Give these steps a try:

Exit the Nest app.
Use the instructions in this article to restart your camera.
On your phone, switch Bluetooth off and then on again to reset the connection. Make sure that Bluetooth is on when you’ve finished.
On rare occasions, your phone might not let you turn on Bluetooth. If you run into this issue, try to reboot your device. Otherwise, skip to the next step.
After turning on Bluetooth, bring your phone within 30 cm of your camera, and keep it there until setup is complete to help reduce wireless interference that may disrupt the Bluetooth connection.
Now, try to set up your Nest Camera again.
If you still can’t set up your Nest Camera, try a different phone if you have one.
If your Nest app displays a Bluetooth error again, reboot your phone if you haven’t already. Then, try to set up your Nest Camera again.

If all else fails, you can try to set up your Nest Camera without using Bluetooth if you have one of the following cameras:

You might want to use a different phone to set up your Nest Camera. You’ll need to install your Nest app on the other device and then follow the steps in the app to set up your Nest Camera.

This is a nest doorbell. I have WiFi all over the house. Bluetooth is not an option. WiFi is what the doorbells and cameras connect to and that is the issue I am having with the doorbell. Cameras are just fine. The Doorbell camera will not connect to WiFi.

If you have any more suggestions, I can dig it out of the trash and try again.
