Nest doorbell battery.

Hi, I have had my nest doorbell since Christmas. The battery stayed up for a good 2 or 3 weeks to begin with but this last month, it's going dead every 3 or 4 days. I have checked all the settings and nothing has changed. Same network, I am the only person who has access to the settings so I know it's not getting changed. Is there something I am missing? Or something I should do to reset the battery? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Hankins19,

Thanks for reaching out. The battery drains faster in cold weather or if there's a lot of activity (even if the activity isn't saved as a clip). Check out these troubleshooting steps and observe if it will make a difference.

Charge the Nest Doorbell (battery). If possible, keep it connected to the charger until its battery is full.
If it's possible to adjust the angle of the camera to a more productive area that catches fewer unimportant activities.

Hi, yes I did. I charged the battery to full capacity. And then put it back out. It's still loosing power pretty quickly. I don't have the option to changing thr angle but I did create a zone so that it would only pick up the necessity things that come in the zones. And it really hasn't helped. I have all the settings on to get the most out of the battery. The only thing I can think k of is that I live in arkansas and the tempeture is pretty hot.i don't know honestly. I charges it to 100% yesterday afternoon and put it out last night around 8:30, it's at 64% now. I do have 2 small children that play outside alot but I have it set in zones so they aren't making it go off a million times a day when they go in and out.

Hi Hankins19,

Got it. Try to restart your Nest Cam Outdoor, this keeps all your settings, and it should reconnect to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever becomes frozen, has trouble connecting to the internet, or isn’t working normally. If that did not fix it, try the factory reset. This erases all your personalized settings, deletes the entire video history, and restores the factory default settings. It won’t automatically reconnect to WI-Fi, and you’ll need to set it up again.

Yes I'm still in need of tryingnto figure out why some videos will show up and others say can't load video try again later. Amd my battery is still only lasting approximately 4 or 5 days.
