Why do I have to use the Google home app with the new nest battery? The Google home app is user hostile!

why fix what’s not broken.

I agree. Biggest oversight with the new product like. Google should have at least readied the home app to properly host the older legacy devices if this was what they had planned on doing prior to the release of the Home app. Many features of the Nest app do not even work on Home. Nest Guard doesn’t even show up!
