Oh. Used to be active on the Chromecast forum back in the day. Clearly the posting format has changed. Start again.

I have the Google Home app for a variety of Google devices and compatible lights.

I've just installed the new Nest camera (indoor wired). All fine. However, my previous camera had its own app which enabled us to go straight to it on our Pixel phones. Now we have to navigate to Living Room within the Home app.

Is there any way to replicate the camera as a standalone shortcut "app" on our phone homescreens?

Thanks for following up. No, I haven't found any means of adding a specific camera app to my Pixel home screen. I'm just using the camera icon within the Home app. So, just an extra click is all.

If they have an icon on the home screen for the Nest Cameras, then they should have a solution to the problem. When I touch the white home icon on the home Pixel 3 screen it says "Not found" for both my outdoor cameras. If I unlock the home screen and touch the Google Home app and choose the appropriate outdoor camera, there is a slight lag before the image appears I think Google should come up with a solution for the home screen icon not connecting to the cameras. If they have the icon, there should not be a need to open the actual app. Google / Nest, please respond.
