When Google home app support scheduled recording for cameras?

I have several existing Nest cameras and a doorbell.

Just purchased two of your newer indoor cameras and seriously shocked to discover I can't schedule the cameras to switch on and off!!

Seriously, how is a 2nd generation product less functional than the 1st generation..

Google are talking the Mick out of there customer base

Are there even any plans to add this feature?

It's not a case of a useful feature - it's a case of features/functions being removed - without it being made clear. It is quite reasonable for a consumer to expect that when they buy a 2nd gen product, it will typically have more features and functions - not a reduction.

Thanks for your reply. However, I don't understand how the answers to the questions you have asked will help me schedule the cameras to come on and off at programmed times of my choosing.

I'm so sorry for the wrong reply. Programming your Nest Camera to set a schedule is currently available to Nest app only and we don't have any news to share about applying this feature to the Google Home app. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send feedback to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this.

At this point I think everyone, for the past two years, has been letting google engineers know that we should be able to schedule notifications on a device that we're clearly using for a range of purposes including, for example, monitoring unwanted activities around our homes when we are home sleeping. The home/away feature in useless in this case -- it's time of day that matters. This is so ridiculous.

I 100% agree that it is ridiculous.

I was at the Google office in St Pancras yesterday (they were hosting an industry event). I did jokingly ask the guide if I could provide some feedback person to the Google Home team - but no luck.
