Doorbell issues

I have the wired doorbell and bought a new chime honeywell home ding dong wired doorbell D117 ( also have new transformer ) as told by google as the old chime would not work with my new next doorbell.

However the chime is not very loud and I do not know how to make the chime louder, if you are upstairs and you have say your bedroom door closed I cannot hear the bell (2 bed house not 15 🙂 )

Any one have any suggestions please if I am in the hallway where the chime is can hear it fine.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, is your new chime a mechanical or electric? Try checking the manual of your new chime and check how to adjust its volume.

Its a mechanical doorbell however there is nothing on there to turn up.the volume. I wondered if nest like a extender or something like what ring do ?

Thanks for getting back to us. Do you by any chance have the Nest Doorbell 2nd gen wired? The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) has higher power requirements than most doorbells and you need a transformer that is rated for 16-24 V AC, 10-40 VA to provide enough power to your doorbell. If you've already installed your doorbell and you see a blinking yellow light on the front, your Nest Doorbell isn't receiving enough power. To further isolate this issue, kindly take a photo of your mechanical chime box. It would be better if you can take off the cover of it to where we can see mechanical objects and the chime connector.
