Nest Battery Camera Will Not Connect to Wifi

Have a battery cam that was placed outside and the battery went to zero. Took it off the mount and recharged fully and now the camera will not connect to any wifi that is available even enable hotspot on my phone. Got 75 minutes into a chat and realized that customer service was going to be of no help when this was mentioned "we will be creating a new home structure." Anyone got insight that might help?

I’ve had Nest cameras since the 90’s and the new Google cameras don’t last. Google will not replace cameras after warranty, and they do go bad. It gets expensive, especially when you purchase the annual Nest Aware!

My last support representative gave me this response which was disappointing to say the least:

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Customer Care Team.

We have customers who have had the same camera model for almost 3 years now with no issues. You can try to hard wire the camera as well for continuous power but it's sold separately.

I wish I could say that it just aged out but it’s barely four months out of the box. It would really be a shame not to stand behind their products in that regard.

@bombplayer, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. You may remove it to your Google Home app, reset it to the factory default and re-add it. Just a reminder: after the reset, all of the event history will be deleted.

To reset:

Locate the reset pinhole on the back of your Nest Doorbell.
Tip: The reset pin on your Nest Doorbell (battery) is located below the USB port on the back of the doorbell.
Insert and hold the pin (you can use an unfolded paperclip or a thumbtack):
- At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
- At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the doorbell starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.
Release the button. Your Nest Doorbell will restore to its factory settings.
After the factory reset, your Nest Doorbell will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it.
To remove it from the app, open the app, then tap Settings Remove device Confirm.
