I do not have insulation on my doorbell camera and it has gone through last winter whitout incidents and I'm in Canada where it does get cold sometimes. This to say that I do not think that you need to insulate yours.

Oops, yours is battery operated and mine is wired.

@Bugsey, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. I really wish we have an accessory to insulate the Nest Doorbell. At temperatures between -20 °C (-4 °F) and 0 °C (32 °F), the doorbell can continue to work, but the battery will drain because it can't be charged. If the battery drains completely, the doorbell will shut down, and you'll need to bring it inside to be charged. If the temperature is below 0 °C (32 °F) and the battery is low, bring it inside to a warm place, preferably at room temperature. The battery can start to charge slowly once its temperature rises past 0 °C (32 °F). It'll charge faster when it warms up.
