Bootloop Doorbell Junk

Hello,

So I have the Nest Hellow wired, I believe the 2nd generation. It randomly stopped working and now it just continues to reboot. Blue ring flashes, then as soon as the green light on top turns on the whole doorbell shuts off completely.

i have contacted support which keeps telling me to factory reset the doorbell, or perform some operation which requires power. I have explained to them countless times that the unit WILL NOT TURN ON. Yet they keep repeating the same things over and over again.

My Google Hub Max also started developing lines throughout the display. These products aren’t even 2 years old and it seems as though every product I have purchased is failing in some way, shape or form.

Is this a common theme with the Google home products? My WiFi setup is also failing. I pay for 1gig speeds and barely get 40mbps with my Google wifi system but my asus router can pull right at 1gig.

I guess I’ve wasted thousands on this junk that I’m going to have to replace and Google support is absolutely atrocious. I guess Brad will come lock this thread in 30 mins as “resolved.” Even when people clearly still have issues.

This is ridiculous. Thanks for robbing me, Google.

I'm feeling as if Google cheated me as well. I talked to their support about my "Wired" nest doorbell with the "battery" failure issue and they don't even want to talk about the failed battery on their product that doesn't state there is a battery on the "Wired" doorbell. So frustrated with these guys!

Well I've reset/restored everything the doorbell, changed my transformer connected to my panel, made sure all connections are in good order. FYI I'm a master electrician in ontario.

I've gone through all the troubleshooting with the Google tech and then they told me my unit is out of warranty.

I've mentioned about the built-in battery failing and they didn't have anything to say about it. I'm a bit frustrated that when buying this unit there was no information stating the "wired device" has a "battery".

Hi Nixon,

Thanks for providing that information. The Nest Doorbell (wired, 1st generation, and 2nd generation) has a small internal battery that assists with sounding the chime and also provides backup power if there's a power outage. The other use for the internal battery, specifically for the Nest Hello, is for troubleshooting purposes if there is a power issue. If you happen to have a Google Nest speaker, you may try to turn off the indoor chime on the Nest app, then turn on the visitor announcement.

Here are the steps to turn off the indoor chime.

Open the Nest app. (For Nest Hello Doorbell)

Select your doorbell.
Tap Settings Indoor chime On/Off Quiet Time

Open the Google Home app. (for 2nd generation Nest Doorbell wired)

Tap and hold your device's tile.
Tap Settings Doorbell. Check that Ring indoor chime is set to On.
