Doorbell video history

I thought the nest doorbell saved 3 hours of event history in memory. Have a new one installed on Dec 30th. All of the recorded events were gone a day later. What happened? So, something recorded at noon will be deleted by 3:01? Google docs don't indicate that it works that way. Seems misleading.

Other customers have been caught on Google Nest's wording but it's the same wording they use everywhere:

"Up to 3 hours of event video history" means event history for the most recent 3 hours, not event history totaling 3 x 24 hours (72 hours).

"Up to 30 days of event video history" means event history for the most recent 30 days, not event history totaling 30 x 24 hours (720 hours).

"Up to 60 days of event video history" means event history for the most recent 60 days, not event history totaling 60 x 24 hours (1,440 hours).

Ring uses the wording "Video History for up to 180 days" (provided by Ring Protect Plus at $10/mo or $100/yr for all cameras, along with extended warranty for all devices).

This wording might be clearer for Google Nest's options:

"Event video history for up to 3 hours"

"Event video history for up to 30 days"

"Event video history for up to 60 days"

It's totally misleading, almost to the point it's deliberate. Imagine if they told the truth in the adverts, a security camera that deletes footage 3hrs later. You wouldn't get a single item sold, but that's what you have here.

Crime committed on your property in the middle of the night? Tough, was over 3hrs ago. It should be 24hrs minimum.

Hey, thank you Super_paulie. I appreciate your answer so much. Finally someone else that 'gets it' and says it. But your right they wouldn't sell any of there really was truth in advertising.

edit: But corporate is happy cause now their Nest Aware subscriptions are up. lol
