Is the new Google camera only available for setup on Google Home? I tried scanning the QR code through my Nest app, and it redirected me to my Google Home app saying that the camera needs to be setup thru Google Home.

Is this a step towards Google moving everything from the Nest name to Google?

I am glad to hear that you are interested in one of our new cameras! I would love to assist you with this issue. If the Google Home app is asking you to to go through there, then you will want to go through that app.

Much like Ryan I have ran in to the same issue. I thought the idea in being with google is continuity across platforms. Even If I wanted to add my nest thermostat to google home it won't allow me to because Nest is not even listed in it's "works with google" drop down items. What's going on with Google and their platform?
