Nest aware going away

I just renewed my nest, aware subscription, and now I see that they are going away! If this is true, will I get my money back? And I’m not sure I understand exactly what is going on as I hate to replace the camera and spend more money when it works just fine

Google Nest's Nest Aware subscriptions are NOT going away! The Google Nest app is NOT going away anytime soon, as Google Nest is still working on moving Nest app functionality to the Google Home app, and some customers on the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app (not us) are trying out transferring their 1st gen cameras to that version: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Nest-Cam-Outdoor-1st-gen-expanded-support-rolling-out-into-Public-Preview/ba-p/550636. (We are active users of both the Google Nest app and Nest Aware; our Nest Aware subscription renews in June 2024.)

What IS going away on April 8, 2024 is support for Nest Secure (the alarm system that includes Nest Guard, Nest Detect, and Nest Tag) and for the older Dropcams (introduced in 2009). See this Google Nest blog post:

Customers currently using a Nest Guard should have received an email this month with instructions on how to receive a Nest Connect instead, at no cost:
