Good Afternoon, Hopa all is well. I purchased 2 Nest hello door bell some time ago. I have noticed that the surface on the 2 deviced have been peeling. Is this a product materials defect? Will this effect the products performance in any way over time?

That's happened to two of our three Nest Hellos. Since Google Nest said it "cannot" replace such doorbells if they are past the 1-year-warranty, we bought silicone "skins" on Amazon over a year ago to cover the peeling shards. In addition, the internal batteries on all three have now failed, causing them to go offline for a minute whenever the doorbell button is pressed. Since the internal battery is only used to provide power during the instant when power is diverted to ring the indoor doorbell chime, turning off the "Indoor chime" option keeps the doorbells online, We use "Visitor announcements" instead to get notifications on our Nest Hubs. All three doorbells otherwise work fine.
