Night vision mode on Google nest indoor outdoor camera not turning off.

I have two indoor Google nest cameras. The indoor/outdoor version.

I have had one replaced for this issue before but it didn't help.

The issue is the night vision does not turn off when the lights are turn on in two locations. I have an outdoor Google nest wired doorbell that works fine.

I have factory reset the devices multiple times. I have messed with many settings. The only temporary fix I have found is to toggle the night vision mode from auto to off then back to auto. That usually only works for a while.

I noticed after several hours of the lights being on, the night vision mode sometimes turns off.

I am fairly disappointed with the cameras. I had the original nest camera and never had this issue. I replaced them to use the new features of the Google nest cameras but they are somewhat nullified because night vision almost never turns off.

I am having the exact same issue with two of my indoor / outdoor cameras. And I have to toggle mine as well.

Disappointed with the new cameras as well.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, how was the reset done? This might happen when lighting conditions change and you might experience a pink, blue, or purple hue when watching your camera’s video stream. Make sure that lights don’t shine into the camera lens. In some cases, bright lights can delay or prevent the Nest Camera from switching to Night Vision. You may try resetting it to the factory default. Just a reminder, after the reset all of your event history will be deleted.

I have two cameras doing the same thing, but it is not coming out of night vision in the day light. So the live streams are black and white not color during the day time. I have tried a factory reset with no change.
This is is my camera details:

Model: Nest Cam (battery)
Software version: nq-user 1.69

I have done the reset in multiple different ways. Through the app and the hardware button I believe.

There are no lights shining in the camera lens. I think there is a problem with the design or something. I have had three different camera that all do the same thing. A lot to spend on something that doesn't work well.

Hello folks,

A black and white picture during daytime typically means that Night Vision is set to Always On. Try to change the Night Vision setting to Auto.

Give these steps a try:

Change the angle or position of your Nest Camera so the sun never shines directly on the lens. For example, angle your Nest Camera slightly downward or give it some shade to protect its lens from direct sunlight.
Move nearby objects that may reflect the sunlight, if possible.
If your Nest Camera is controlled by the Nest app, you can zoom and enhance, to crop out surfaces or objects that may be causing glare.

Hey CFD_300,

I appreciate your update. To further isolate this issue, please tell us how you perform the reset? Have you tried changing the position of it? Try turning off and on your Night vision to refresh its functionality with the app and Nest Camera. You may also reinstall your Google Home app.

For the Factory reset, I removed it form my account, then I pressed the small white button for about 15 seconds and then added it back into my account from scratch. When the cameras are stuck in Night Vision mode if I toggle them in the app then they display full color.

I'm also having the same issue. The night vision is set to auto, but gets stuck on during the day. I need to toggle it off and then to auto to get full color video back on. Has anyone solved the issue?

Add me to the list with the same issue. Seems to happen at least once a week. Camera is set to auto. Manually toggling between off and auto will immediately correct the problem. Until the next time it gets stuck. Camera is in the shade on the north side of the house. Points down at the driveway.
