Nest battery doorbell

My nest doorbell sends alerts to my phone, but will not ring on my Google home or home mini devices when someone pushes the button. I have allowed 'visitor announcements' but still my devices fail to alert me... Any advice is greatly appreciated.

That should work. This is what Google's support site says about how visitor announcements work: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10479296?hl=en

We're just another Nest customer, and it works for our Google Hubs and Minis.
