Hello, I'm an end user like you. Unfortunately Google Nest does not make any higher resolution cameras. I have been hoping for something with better resolution for about 2+ years but so far nothing. There are many other companies offering cameras with higher resolution and now some also offer HDR (improved color space) as well. Seems like Google is falling behind.

I'm in So Cal as well. The Wasserstein solution would work but I think your idea of an adapter is a better and simpler solution. Even if it only came on at night it would probably be proficient at keeping the battery charged all the time.

Hi all,

I have a Nest Battery Cam on my balcony powered by Wasserstein solar. I need a higher resolution camera to work with my Nest system.

Is there a higher resolution camera that will work with my Nest? Also, as I am a renter, I don't know how I can get power to it, other than with the Wasserstein solar panel. Would that be adequate? I live in SoCal, and get full sun in that location. There is a light fixture, I have thought about putting a socket adapter that will allow me to plug in a device to get power.

Thanks in advance.
