Nest Doorbell Not Recording People Walking in front of my house in the Activity Zone

I have an issue with neighbors who are depositing trash in front of my house and I have created zones for the area but I am receiving a lot of notifications around sound and cars vs people walking. So if its windy that equals noise, if a car speeds that equals car video. I have set the setting in Nest for people only in activity zone but again, all i get in zones are cars and noise. Does the Nest Cam for outside that acts as a doorbell with batteries not pick up motion of people walking? If it does pick it up then please tell me how and I will.

Thanks for posting and I'm sorry for the experience with activity zone notification. Help's here.

Sometimes when you create an activity zone, an option appears to receive notifications of things that happen outside the zone, perhaps that function is activated, so I suggest you to attempt the next steps below:

Follow this article to Change the Nest camera alerts
Check the camera and doorbell alerts

If that doesn't work, I suggest you delete and create a new activity zone with the proper settings based on the information provided check this Set up and use Activity Zones

That didn’t help, i did that prior before reaching out. It seems that you can’t record people in zones , you just can’t

Thank you for keeping me informed and I'm sorry the information provided didn't help. Can you tell me What type of Nest device you have? Are you able to see the live video? Do you receive notifications for other events the camera records? What is the model of the phone you use? Are you using the Nest app or the Home app?

In the meantime, here are some steps you can attempt:

Check the app permission on your phone.
Change the Nest notification settings, turn it off and turn it on.
If you have another phone, test the app there to see if the issue persists. Reset the app if necessary.
