    <description>&lt;P&gt;Mackie77, I see that you were VERY proactive, given that you made this post last December. I did something akin to what you did (temporarily disconnecting my home Wi-Fi network from the Internet) and discovered that at least for 10-15 minutes, I could still receive alerts about the status of my Nest Detect portal monitors on my iPhone. However, at about that time, messages arrived on my phone announcing that those portal monitors had all gone "offline." What that means to me is that the security infrastructure does not REQUIRE communication with Google's servers.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What happened April 8 surprised me. I'm in the US, on Mountain time. Mid-afternoon that day, in my Nest app messages appeared stating that my Nest Detects had all gone offline. Now, 2 days later, their pre-April 8 status still is detailed in the "History" section obtainable on the "Security" page in the Nest App, but otherwise their's NO information available as to their very existence.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Similarly (although I'm not sure exactly when this happened) things changed on my Nest Guard. The "Message" LED at 6 o'clock on the Guard's numeric keypad illuminated amber, and when pressed it announced that the Nest Guard was offline. However, when it did so, the house was actually in a "perimeter armed" state, and when I pressed the button at 12 o'clock that is blue when the house is armed, it confirmed that and asked me to enter my password. When I did so, the Guard changed to disarmed status. Even more surprising, when I pressed the button at 12 o'clock again, the synthesized voice announce that the Nest Guard was offline, but a few seconds later the 12 o'clock button's LED turned blue, indicating perimeter arming. That amazed me, so I went to one of my armed portals and opened it. The Nest Guard issued its two-tone warning, AND its synthesized voice correctly identified the fault location, AND the Guard began its countdown, at the end of which it wailed its very loud alarm.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So, Google has NOT killed our systems in the manner it threatened. It's just prevented our devices from talking to each other locally over the Nest App and remotely over the internet. I suspect the latter might require episodic communication with remote servers, but the fact that my Guard and Detects could still communicate with my phone within my LAN for several minutes when I did my pre-April 8 experiment suggests that SOME of that local functionality COULD be restored.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I participated stridently in several discussions about the April 8 attack before it happened, and I contacted at least 3 consumer advocacy law firms, none of which seemed interested in representing us in a class action. Someone mentioned then that one reason for that lack of interest is that such suits seek compensation for damages, and that until April 8 none of us had actually been damaged. Now we have been, AND we have evidence that the devices themselves are still capable of talking to one another and protecting our homes.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Even better (for us), the difficulty that users have experienced connecting their el-cheapo $480 "systems" (2 portal detectors replacing systems that may have included DOZENS previously) to ADT servers perhaps even strengthens our cases, because only has Google interfered with the ability of our systems to function locally, the pitiful nature of its "offer" to its customers is exposed by their initial suboptimal performance.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;There were many contributors to this thread after the flurry of posts on December 22-23. I hope this post-April 8 response reaches enough of them who've not yet torn their Nest Detects off their window and doorframes to stimulate some critical mass of customers to contact attorneys they know about the possibility of a class action lawsuit because now we HAVE been damaged, and we have evidence that those damages were willful, predatory, and, critically important, UNNECESSARY.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I received an email on April 7, 2023 and another email today informing me about my free Drop Cam replacement.&amp;nbsp; When I click on the link on either email, I get directed to the website to buy a Drop Cam and on the checkout page, I'm being charged $107.74.&amp;nbsp; I'm hesitant to press "confirm purchase" because a rebate wasn't applied.&amp;nbsp; There is an ability to add a promo code but there was no promo code on either email.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

It probably went to my wife's old hottmail account which she frequently cleans up,&amp;nbsp; Her Junk mail there get autmatically deleted a fte r a month or so.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Can you resend it to her email (which we originally used to setup dropcam about 10 years ago) or to my Gmail?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Here is the latest.&amp;nbsp; I used the instructions from MplsCustomer and contacted Google/Nest support.&amp;nbsp; I was surprised how easily I got a real person.&amp;nbsp; After going through two levels and multiple account verifications and holds their story is that it is too bad I don't have that email from April (if they ever sent me one) because that seems to be the only way to get the offer code.&amp;nbsp; They cant just re-send it.&amp;nbsp; They are escalating to Engineering (do we really need engineering to get me an offer code?) and will get back to me in the next day or two.&amp;nbsp; They did not sound optimistic.&amp;nbsp; I have subscribed to nest aware for 10 years&amp;nbsp; and have 3 cameras so I should get two free new ones.&amp;nbsp; I will update everybody once they get back to me.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Good luck with that.&amp;nbsp; I had the hardest time trying to get anyone to talk to about the same situation as you!&amp;nbsp; When I finally got someone on chat, after going through probably 10-15 internet "help" pages, the guy wanted 90 minutes access to my Nest cameras.&amp;nbsp; I said no way - that I will switch to another vendor and get a different brand of camera.&amp;nbsp; I have 4 Dropcam cameras that I am going to disassemble before tossing them into the local "e-waste" bin.&amp;nbsp; Luckily, my subscription ends in March, 1 month before the end, so I won't really lose much money on that year subscription.&amp;nbsp; I also have been a customer about 10 years and never received an email and was wondering if maybe they didn't want to send me the 2 free cameras?&amp;nbsp; Doesn't matter, going to go with Ring since I am already a customer.&amp;nbsp; Good luck to you, but don't hold your breath!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I went through the same thing and now onto about 5 emails about this.&amp;nbsp; The latest email said I was approved and to click on the link to order "your new camera" (I thought I was supposed to get 2 free Nest cameras since I have 4 Dropcam cameras).&amp;nbsp; So I clicked on the link and there was a $99 charge to add it to my cart.&amp;nbsp; I replied back and said I did not want to buy a Nest camera - I thought I was to receive two free cameras.&amp;nbsp; Anyways, onto email 6, not sure how long this process takes.&amp;nbsp; It has been very frustrating.&amp;nbsp; The Dropcam customer service was excellent and I was able to get ahold of them by phone.&amp;nbsp; I have searched and searched for a phone number to call for this Nest issue and cannot find one and have been going in circles.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Dropcam also had great customer service.&amp;nbsp; Once the Dropcam cameras are no longer supported in March, I will probably close my account and continue with my Ring that I have recently started using indoors.&amp;nbsp; It has been quit a struggle trying to get my 2 free Nest cameras - I am on about email #8 or 9 back and forth.&amp;nbsp; Very draining.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
