My 1st generation doorbell stays offline for 6 hours, comes on for a few seconds, then is offline for another 6 hours, back on a few seconds, then off again continuously. It's only about 8 feet from the router. I've reset, restarted, and rewired. After years of good service it started acting up in Feb. an has now become useless. Help. Is it fixable?

Hi @BillinBrandon,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest doorbell 1st generation wired is offline. Help's here:

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

Has there been any recent power outage in the area where you live?

Has it been exposed to direct sunlight?

Did you check the Nest doorbell compatibility? The compatible voltage is 16 to 24V AC. Follow these steps to Check Nest doorbell compatibility.

Possible Causes:

Weak Wi-Fi Signal: Even though it's close to the router, there could be interference or obstacles weakening the signal at the doorbell's location.

Router Issues: Sometimes a router glitch can cause temporary disconnections for devices.

Doorbell Hardware: After years of service, internal components might be failing.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany
