Hi @quitesnotzard,

First I would like to thank you for posting on our community page, on the other hand I apologize for the inconvenience that you are having with your Google Nest Cam. Let me tell you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to fix the problem.

I understand your frustration with setting up your Google Nest Cameras. Even though everything seems to be compatible (Google Pixel phone, Google Home app, Google Nest Wifi Pro router, and Nest cameras), there can be a few reasons why the app gets stuck on "Connecting to your device." Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Wi-Fi Network Issues:

Double-check Wi-Fi Network: Make sure your phone and the cameras are connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Some Nest cameras don't support 5 GHz networks.

Restart your Router: A simple router reboot can sometimes resolve temporary network issues.

Move the Camera Closer: Try placing the camera closer to your router during setup to ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal.

2. Google Home App Issues:

Update the App: Ensure you're using the latest version of the Google Home app downloaded from the Google Play Store.

Force Quit and Relaunch: Close the Google Home app completely and relaunch it. This can clear any temporary glitches.

Reinstall the App (Last Resort): If nothing else works, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app.

3. Nest Camera Issues:

Double-Check Camera Mode: Verify that the camera is in setup mode (usually indicated by a blinking LED light). Refer to the Nest camera manual for specific instructions on entering setup mode.

Reset Again (Correctly): While you mentioned a factory reset, ensure you're following the correct procedure. Consult the Nest camera manual for the specific button press duration and LED light confirmation for a successful reset.

If for some reason you still have the same issue don't hesitate to let us know.

Regards,

Mario.

I purchased two Google Nest Cam (outdoor or indoor, battery) cameras and attempted to set them up. I downloaded the Google Home app from the Google Play Store onto my Google Pixel 7 Pro phone and created a new home with which to associate my cameras. Then I selected "Add Product" and walked through the installation instructions. The instructions had me plug the camera into power and wai until it has a slowly pulsing blue LED, then scan the QR code on the sticker covering the camera lens using the Google Home app, and follow the steps as prompted in the setup flow in the app. The setup procedure gets stuck at the screen saying "Connecting to your device" - the app cannot detect the presence of either of the two cameras I purchased; both fail to setup properly. I factory reset both cameras using the small reset button at the back of the camera, but no effect. I'm even using Google Nest Wifi Pro as my wifi router, so my phone, wifi, and camera are all Google products - still doesn't work.
