Google Nest Camera sound cuts out as soon as accessed by phone

When I open my Google Home app in my iPhone, then click on one of my cameras, the video starts with the sound, but the sound immediately cuts out. I have to struggle to get the sound back by scrolling down into the history to "pick up" the sound again, then go back to live. It seems that other people have brought this up but Google is not doing anything about it. It is not a wi-fi or internet issue. It is an issue with the Google Home app. This could be a security problem, if I want to catch something live and the sound immediately cuts out so I have to scroll down away from the live feed.
