Green screen when starting up Chromecast

Every time I boot up my Chromecast, it starts up displaying a green screen. I can see the picture that's supposed to be there, but there's that heavy green tint. When I unplug/replug the Chromecast into the HDMI port, the issue resolves and the Chromecast works as designed for as long as the Chromecast is powered up. That is, until the next time I boot up the Chromecast and I have the same green-screen issue.

My TV is a 1-year old LG model 65NAN091 (65"). My Chromecast is plugged in the HDMI port 4 (4k support on this port). I replaced a 4K Firestick that was working perfectly. I just wanted to try the new Chromecast.

It's a HDMI handshake issue and it can appear when you connect the Chromecast device to certain multimedia devices, like TVs and AV receivers, that have their own programming for HDMI handshake protocol.

It is not necessarily the Chromecast device fault.

It is just that the connection between two devices is expected to work in a certain way and, logically, when you reboot the Chromecast device, by unplugging it from the main power grid, the TV should switch, automatically or manually, to another active source input and then switch back to the Chromecast device input, to allow the HDMI handshake protocol to work correctly.

What you experience on your LG TV model, others may not on other TV models.
