Hi, Apple Music has started Lossless (CD Quality 16 Bit / 44.1 Khz) music services worldwide. Will I be able to cast CD quality lossless music to my Chromecast Audio connected via optical cable to my Receiver/Speakers? I'm told Apple streams in ALAC to Chromecast Audio.

Hey there Jagadeesh,

Here is a list of the supported media types for Google Cast (which includes Chromecast Audio). It looks like ALAC is not a natively supported media type for the Chromecast Audio, the closest audio type that it would support would be FLAC. I don't know from experience, but from what I've read is that it should be pretty close to the same sound.
