I got a new modem and new a network but my Chromecast can't find this network it still wants to connect to the old network.

How do I change the network conection for Chromecast?

If you've already changed to a different Wi-Fi network, try these steps:
Open the Google Home app.
At the top left, tap Add + > Set up device > New device > set up new devices in your home.
Follow the in-app steps.
If these steps above don’t solve the issue, you’ll need to factory reset your Chromecast, then then set it up again using your new Wi-Fi network and password. If you're using Chromecast with Google TV, follow these setup steps instead.

Instead of factory resetting your Chromecast, if you're comfortable changing your router settings, you can change your new Wi-Fi network name and password in your router's settings to be the same as the previous ones. Your device should then automatically connect to the Wi-Fi.

Dear David,

Thanks for the explention I now have a fully working Chromecast again.

All I had to do was adding again to my home.

I have the same issue, however, my googe Home won't find it. It was set up in 2013 on an old network and I cannot get to it to reset the network on the chromecast. I'm about ready to throw it out!

Hey there CSteward37,

What model of Chromecast do you have? All the devices have a way to factory reset the device using a button on the device itself. That way, you can forget the old network, without needing to be connected to the old network.
