      <title>Can’t Fund Device</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I factory reset my chromecast. I want to add it to my existing Home account. The chrome cast is displaying the “Welcome” screen but when I add a new device on the Google Home app the chromecast does not show up as an option. I get stuck in an endless loop of choosing that I have a new chromecast, then the Home app looks for devices, and then I’m back at choosing what type of device I’m looking for.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;I have restarted my router. I have restarted the chromecast numerous times. I have deleted and redownloaded the Home app. I am stuck.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have the same issue...to add Chromecast to home app I have to activate the device and to activate the device I need to add it to the home app...GFY google&lt;/P&gt;</description>

 &lt;LI&gt;What's the LED light status on your Chromecast (solid or flashing white)?&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;What's the distance between the router and the Chromecast device?&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;What troubleshooting steps have you&amp;nbsp;done&amp;nbsp;so far?&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;What messages does the TV display? Does it display&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Set me up&lt;/STRONG&gt;?&lt;/LI&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;hi&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;we have a gen 2 chrome cast.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;I am using a iPhone to setup.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;the LED light is solid&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;the chrome cast and router are in the same room (maybe 20 feet apart)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tried every troubleshooting step I could find (reset chrome cast, reset router, reset app/phone, unplug chrome cast)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The TV says “Set Me Up”&lt;/P&gt;</description>

 &lt;LI&gt;Check if the Chromecast device is plugged into a power outlet, rather than the USB port.&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;For iOS 14 or later devices, make sure&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Bluetooth&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;is turned on.&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Make sure the&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Local Network Access&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;is turned. Here's how to check: Phone's&amp;nbsp;Settings &amp;gt; Tap Privacy &amp;gt; Local Network &amp;gt; Choose Google Home &amp;gt; Turn on Local Network Access.&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Manually connect to the Chromecast SSID: Go to the phone’s&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Settings &amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Examples:&amp;nbsp;Chromecast1234, Living room TV or Bedroom TV) &amp;gt; Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;If you have a dual band router, make sure it is connected to the correct network connection (2.4GHz or 5 GHz).&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;From the setup device, turn the WiFi on/off.&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Force close and reopen the Google Home app.&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Try to use a different mobile device.&lt;/LI&gt;
