Help, no sound/audio heard from TV while casting

I am hoping someone can help with a problem with casting from my android phones, or chromebook to my android (sony) TV. I can only see the screen that is casted but I cannot hear the sound. What is the point of one without the other? How do I cast with display AND audio? Thanks!

I am sorry about the late response, thank you for your patience on this! Were you able to fix that audio issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I agree there isn't much point to casting without sound! Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

When did this issue start happening?
Does this only occur when casting, or when using apps on the Chromecast as well?
Does this occur when casting from multiple apps/websites, or only one particular one?
What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
