Wanted to expand memory. Bought a usb hub w/pass-through power (Vemont 5 in 1), 90 W power supply, and SanDisk 256GB usb3.0 stick. These have been suggested by various reviews and have been proven to work.

Connected, enabled Dev opts., force allow on external. Mem stick recognized and clicked to format. Came back and found GCWGTV was rebooting and stuck on colored square. Left it for over an hour, same thing. Pulled power and rebooted. It started normally. Checked memory, mem stick recognized but not mounted (usb drive is safely ejected) with no options at all. Reformatted mem stick on Win 10 pc and tried again, same message. Rebooted multiple times, no change.

As you can imagine, this is very frustrating. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or solutions, please feel free to chime in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the late response. You could try to reboot your Chromecast and connect your storage device again. If the same issue persists, please try to reset your Chromecast and try again.
