Chromecast cant be found

Hi I am trying to set up my Google Chromecast from my phone to my tv and it gives me the message dthat chromecast is set up on my phone but can't find the chromecast. They areboth on the same internet source. Any help please as tech challenged. Thanks Leanne

When did this issue start happening?
What color is the LED light on the Chromecast?
Have you already followed the steps in this article on common connection issues?
What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
