Chromecast mixing app names and YouTube channels

I have an installed app names Sportsnet.

If I use Assistant via the remote and say "Play Sportsnet", it works fine and starts the app properly.

If I use my Nest Speaker and say "Hey Google, Play Sportsnet on Bedroom Speaker" is fires up the Sportsnet YouTube channel. How do I get it to properly start the App, the same as the Chromecast Assistant does?

Hi gddeluca,

Thanks for posting. Is your Chromecast working as intended? Please try to reboot your Chromecast and Nest speaker. Also, try to use a different command. Check here for some examples.

Hi Jennifer,

Well, the full blown "OPEN SPORTSNET APP ON BEDROOM TV" didn't work consistently. A few times it worked, but mostly it just turned everything on, but left you sitting at the ChromeCast Home screen, just as if you'd never mentioned SportNet.

So I created a small routine which has two commands: "TURN ON BEDROOM TV" followed by "OPEN SPORTSNET ON BEDROOM TV". This has turned out to be fairly reliable.
