I wanted to reduce the rate at which my photos are changing at during idle time on Chromecast using the Google home app and no settings are there for it anymore ... just me?? or common downgrade again??

Hey there Cyan,

I'm sorry about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to locate those Ambient Mode settings? If not, I'd be happy to help you out! You can change the rate at which your photos change on the Chromecast by doing the following:

Open Google Home.
Tap on your Chromecast.
Tap on the cog in the top-right.
Tap on Ambient Mode.
At the very bottom, under Slideshow speed, that's where you can change those settings.
