Cannot setup chromecast

I have a chromecast that I've been using on my non-smart TV and recently we took it with us on holiday where it wouldn't connect. Brought it back home and it still wouldn't connect or setup. We got new WiFi, now the chromecast won't let me connect through the Home app to change the password. It let's me attempt to set it up, but then as it's connecting, it sends a notification that it can't connect and then goes back to home home page on the app.

I haven't been able to find a way to factory reset the chromecast. If anyone knows how to, please tell me

If you've already changed to a different Wi-Fi network, try these steps:

Open the Google Home app .
At the top left, tap Add + > Set up device > New device > set up new devices in your home.
Follow the in-app steps.

If these steps above don’t solve the issue, you’ll need to factory reset your Chromecast, then set it up again using your new Wi-Fi network and password. If you're using Chromecast with Google TV, follow these setup steps instead.

Instead of factory resetting your Chromecast, if you're comfortable changing your router settings, you can change your new Wi-Fi network name and password in your router's settings to be the same as the previous ones. Your device should then automatically connect to the Wi-Fi.
