I do not have a smart tv in my bedroom, just a plasma. I never had trouble using my 1st generation chrome cast while I had 2.4 router, now that I’ve grown up, ( I’m 63), I finally upgraded to a Netgear03 but my old chrome cast will not work, it’s not compatible.

if I buy a new chrome cast, will it solve my problem and let me watch Hulu, Netflix and my showtime (which I pay for all- ticks me off when ppl steal cable etc…that’s the main reason why I pay so much) or will it be waste of $$$? Help me please…I cannot sleep without my tv on…pleasssee help

Hi there Mamacat,

Have you tried a full factory reset to your Chromecast? Try it and then set it up like it was new. Here are the directions: How to factory reset your Chromecast - Android - Chromecast Help
