Chromecast Remote

My chromecast remote died. We replaced the batteries and the light at the bottom center of the remote is on as a solid color but it will not work. We checked the batteries for power and they are good. I already looked at the support page but our chromecast has already been set up

Please advise.

If you're happy the batteries are good, try these steps:

Remove the batteries from the remote.
Using your phone or other remote to navigate, go to Settings > Remotes & Accessories.
Select your remote and choose to Forget it.
Choose Pair remote accessory to start a new pairing.
Hold the home button on the remote down and re-insert batteries while holding the button down.
The remote should be detected on the right side of the screen. Use your alternate remote to select it to pair it.

In most cases, your remote will pair automatically after you insert the batteries. If it doesn’t, follow the steps on the TV screen, or press and hold the Back and Home buttons on the remote for 3 seconds.
