Want to start using Chromecast Audio again

Until just over two years ago, I used to use three CC audios to cast music to three separate rooms for parties etc. I had the music on my iPhone and played/cast it using the Google Music app. All was fine,

Since then Google has withdrawn its music app and replaced it with Youtube Music (which I hate!). I've tried to find a way of casting music played on either the iphone, an Android tablet, a Widows laptop or a Windows desktop - all to no avail. Just when I find something promising, I discover it's no longer supported. I'll scream if I read another article that starts, "it's very easy to cast....."!

I've also tried casting from WMP and Groove but they don't seem to work either. The only thing that get remotely close it the BBCSounds app as I have maged to cast to a (party) group with that. Even casting from Chrome with Desktop (not tab) as source won't work either, It did in the past.

Is anyone currently managing to cast to a CC audio group using their own music files?

I cast from YouTube Music to my own Chromecast Audio devices and groups and they work fine. I literally do it every single day.

I would suggest you ask over in the YouTube Music forum:

Give them specific info. What hardware are you using? Where are you getting stuck? What error messages are you getting?

It is a little more difficult if you are on the free account. You have to make sure you are telling the app to use your Uploads. It has a tendency to default to the Free Radio version if you aren't careful.

I did transfer my music to YTM when Google shut down Google Music a few years ago. However, there's nothing in my library and when I tried to transfer some again, it said they were duplicates. Tried Help but I'm obviouslyy missing something.

I don't see why I need tp pay (again) for music I've purchased in the last 45-50 years.

Agh!!! - I've just found the 'Uploads' tab underneath the 'Youtube Music' tab. Why is it hidden like that?!
