Google Cromecast TV audio to second chromecast

I have a setup where my projector is far from the amps that power the speakers in the room. I would like to use the Chromecast with Google TV and then Cast the audio to a second Chromecast connected to my amps. I can make this work with audio sources via Audio groups - but it doesnt appear to work for the Youtube TV. Is this possible?

I'm sorry, what you want to do isn't possible using a pair of Chromecast devices.

As you've discovered, Audio Groups only work for audio-sources (music) and not video.

If you have a Chromecast with Google TV, it (and ONLY it) can push sound to a Bluetooth device. You could try connecting a Bluetooth receiver to your amp and then set your Chromecast with Google TV to use that as the output.

Thanks for the reply - That is too bad - this would be a pretty nice feature. I think i will have distance challenges with using bluetooth (since the amps are in the basement of my home and some distance from the projector. I have been using HDMI over ethernet with an audio de-embedder but its a clunky solution.

Do you know if the audio volume can be controlled via a google hub max with this setup? Eg - Chromecast with Google TV to bluetooth at the amp - and then audio controls via hub max (for things like spotify etc)

Hey there eric_1,

I know this response is long overdue, but you should be able to control the volume of the Chromecast with Google TV using a Google Hub Max. I would check out this article to see what the Chromecast with Google TV requires for that setup to happen properly.
