Chromecast won't work and LED just flashes

I've tried resetting the remote and that doesn't work. I tried to download an app to control the TV to remove the remote and that didn't work. Any other suggestions?

When did this issue start happening?
Is the LED light on the Chromecast flashing, or on the remote? What color is the LED light?
What is the firmware version of your Chromecast?
What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

There are a few things we can try depending on whether the LED light on the Chromecast is flashing, or the Chromecast Voice Remote. Please check out the linked articles and let me know which LED state you're experiencing, and follow the steps the article suggests, if any.
