Hi!

I posted this question a while back and the only responses I got was from others who are having the same issue. A "Community Specialist" decided to close the post instead of offering assistance. Maybe this forum isn't used to assist customers?

Thanks for posting and we apologize if your old thread was closed sooner than you would have liked. As Community Specialists, we occasionally do a bit of housekeeping to keep the conversations in our Community fresh and relevant. This includes locking threads after a period of inactivity.

Let me assist you with this by trying the suggested steps below:

Make sure the casting device is Wi-Fi enabled and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Chromecast with Google TV.
Close and reopen the Google Play Movies & TV app.
Make sure that the casting device (phone or tablet) has the latest version of the Google Play Movies & TV app.
Play a movie on the mobile device using the Google Play Movies & TV app. If it works, the issue might be caused by the Google Play Movies & TV app (rather than the Chromecast device).
Cast from another app and another casting device (phone or tablet).
Clear the cache and data of the Google Play Movies & TV app again.
Reboot the mobile device, the Chromecast device, and the router.
Factory reset your Chromecast with Google TV.
