Chromecast with Google TV warranty?

Our Chromecast remote stopped working. The dongle works, but the remote does not. Light comes on but it does not start TV or have any effect on the Chromecast. I would like to apply for warranty, but following the links takes my wife and I in a big circle (so many times). So frustrating. I would have bought another unit to replace it (not 6 months old), but given how awful the warranty process has been, I don't think I can support Google again. Help!?

Hi Pat4,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Chromecast Voice Remote.

Please try these steps first and let me know how it goes:

Replace all batteries at the same time with new ones (1.5 volt AAA batteries not lithium-ion).
Remove the batteries and wait for 5 minutes before putting them back in the Voice Remote.
Factory reset the Chromecast with Google TV and factory reset the Voice Remote.

Yes, sorry, I replied to the email by mistake. "You Rock" was the reply. I followed your instructions, and it all working again. Honestly, I was very close to putting it in the rubbish bin.
