Chromecast Not Showing Up in Home

Just got a brand new Chromecast set it up with Google Home but now I cannot connect any devices to it. On my television I see changing backgrounds, the time and Google.

When I open Home, there is nothing there and I cannot cast to it from any devices.

Thanks for reaching out. Let's sort this out.

A few questions: can you still cast a video content on your TV? What's the LED light status (solid or flashing white)? What's the distance between the router and the Chromecast device?

Give these steps a try:

Make sure the Chromecast device is plugged into a power outlet, rather than the USB port.
Check your device settings: For Android phones, make sure the Location Services is turned on. For iOS 14 or later devices, make sure Bluetooth and Local Network Access is turned on.
Make sure the Chromecast device is within 15 to 20 feet of the setup device and the Wi-Fi router.
If you're using a dual band router, check if it's connected to the correct network connection (2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz).
From the setup device, turn Wi-Fi off then on.
Force close and reopen the Google Home app.
Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
Reboot your router.
Reboot your Chromecast.
Reboot your mobile phone.
Perform a factory reset.
Manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone Settings > Open WiFi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.
