Using Chromecast with Google tv on older tv

I would love to get the newest Chromecast with Google tv. But I have an older tv, Panasonic tc-p42c2, 2009. Would this device work on this tv?

If your older TV has HDMI, it will work with the chromecast and also with the newest one with google tv.

Your chromecast will auto detect the hdmi resolution your TV can handle and adapt its output to it.
