Hey,

I've brought my dad my Chromecast, but forgot to bring the remote (my dad lives in Israel and I live in Germany, so going back just to bring the remote is not really a possibility). I can't seem to set up the Chromecast with Google TV, because I don't have the remote. Is there a way I can set it up without having the remote?

Unfortunately, I believe that setup requires the remote since the device needs to pair with it so it can be controlled.

Also, I'm sorry to say you may also have country problems with it since you are moving it from one country to another. If so, Google can't help you resolve that. Different versions of the devices are sold in different countries (due to regulations and technology) and it is against the warranty to move a device to a different country.
