Casting music from Chromecast 3rd to Chromecast Audio

Hello,

is there a possibility to cast the music directly from Chromecast 3rd generation to Chromecast Audio?

Currently, the Chromecast Audio casts the music and video to the TV but I want to hear the music from the speakers connected to the Chromecast Audio.

From the Chromecast 3rd I cannot setup a new device like Chromecast Audio but it works with any bluetooth speakers.

Hey there sqrn,

Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! If you want to listen to audio on both Chromecast devices, you would need to add them both to a speaker group. That way, you can simultaneously use them both for the same music. However, this only work with audio, not video.

Hey Jeran,

thanks for the update. Yes, this works for audio, so I can connect Home mini and Chromecast audio and they all works. With video + audio there is no such option, unfortunatelly.

Of course! You're right that there isn't an option for video as well with both of those devices, unfortunately. I know this has been a common feature request, so if you have the time, would you be willing to submit feedback to Google? That way, they are more aware of the desire for this functionality.
