Chromecast drops internet connection frequently

My Chromecast drops my internet connection frequently. I bought the Chromecast because I subscribed to YouTubeTV, which I love. However, the only way I can watch YouTubeTV is on my computer, not on my TV, though I could connect the computer directly to the TV. I read on this message board that the range of the Chromecast is about 20 feet. My TV (and the connected Chromecast device) is about 28 feet from my router, so I guess that means it's too far away. I have two questions:

1. Is there a less anemic device (like an Amazon Firestick) that can maintain an internet link over more than 20 feet?

2. Can I return my Chromestick for a refund?

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient on this! You are correct, all of the Chromecast devices need to be within 20 feet to retain a stable connection to your Wi-Fi. A good way to remedy this would be to extend the range of your Wi-Fi, or to connect an Ethernet cable to your Chromecast using an adapter. In regards to your question about refunds, if you bought the device from the Google Store, refer to this article.

I solved the problem by unplugging my Chromecast device and connecting my laptop directly to the TV. The laptop has no problem communicating over my wireless network; in fact, it can communicate just fine at 60 yards, so 28 feet is a piece of cake.

I would love to find a TV adapter similar to Chromecast or Firestick that has a less anemic wifi receiver. It's a nuisance to take my laptop into the TV room every time I want to watch TV. Does anyone know of a more powerful such device?
