Chromecast remote - replace battery problem

I am unable to slide open the bottom half of the remote no matter how hard I depress the indented spot with my thumb?

See if this video helps. You do need to slide it kinda hard. Sounds like you are doing it correctly so just a bit more force should open the back up.
