Let me ask a few more questions to better understand the issue:&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;What Operating System are you using on that laptop?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Has there been any changes in your network?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Are you using a dual-band router?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;How far is the laptop from the router?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;For now, I would try the following steps:&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Make sure the laptop is on the same network band as the Chromecast device (Chromecast with Google TV works better on a 5GHz band).&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Confirm the Google Chrome browser is up-to-date.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Disconnect from any VPNs or proxy servers, since&amp;nbsp;Chromecast devices can't communicate with a laptop over these networks.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Ensure that the firewall and/or antivirus software are up-to-date and aren’t blocking connections to the Chromecast device.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;If you have a dual-band router, Access Point (AP) isolation must be disabled.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;If you have a dual-band router, reduce network congestion for both networks, connect the&amp;nbsp;other devices unrelated to Chromecast, such as laptops, phones, tablet, to the&amp;nbsp;2.4GHz network and leave the Chromecast connected to the&amp;nbsp;5GHz network.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/OL&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Since you mentioned that other devices can connect successfully to the Chromecast, that points to the issue lying somewhere with the laptop or the Google Chrome browser.
