Can't connect my Chromecast with Google tv to the internet

I've been trying to connect my Chromecast with Google tv to the web but it won't connect, I've tried rebooting the Chromecast, factory resetting the Chromecast, I've tried with wifi and with an ethernet cable and it just won't connect, what can I do.

Ps. I bought a Chromecast with Google tv as a gift for my brother and he tells that that one won't connect as well.

Thanks for reaching out and for doing some steps beforehand — these are of great help! To cover all the bases, are you getting any messages when connecting the Chromecast with Google TV to your network? What's the LED light status on your Chromecast with Google TV (solid or blinking)?

Please try to manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone Settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.
