chromecast split video and audio (via google home/nest speaker)

Hi,

I want to use my chromecast on my pc display/screen. Is it possible to split the audio to a google home audio group so that the video is on the screen but the audio comes via the smart speaker? i cant believe this is not an option.

You can only do this (sort of) with the new Chromecast with Google TV device (the oblong one that comes with a remote).

That Chromecast can push audio to a Bluetooth speaker. And, your smart speaker can act as a Bluetooth speaker.

None of the other versions of Chromecast can do that.

Just to add to ByteGuy, you can do this with certain streams, such as Plex Media server.
