I am using Web2Cast app to get chromecast to display a web page which is hosted on a server on my local network.

This all works perfectly except;

The webserver in question refreshes the page every 5 seconds and for some reason the chromecast browser blanks (black screen) momentarily before the page refreshes. So on the TV the image flashes every 5 seconds. This does not happen if I cast a tab from Chrome.

Any ideas???

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that casting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

When did this issue start happening?
Does this issue only happen when casting your own hosted web-page, or all web-pages?
Does this issue only happen with Web2Cast in general?
What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

Hi Jeran

Thanks so much for your follow up.

Since I posted my original question I have migrated my web page to use event-stream for doing updates to the web page instead of doing a constant page refresh. This has worked exceptionally well and chromecast handles it perfectly.

So once again thanks for your follow up but all is good now. I assume that chromecast still has the problem of 'flashing' the screen when doing a page refresh but event-stream is a much more elegant solution.
