Satisfied user for several years. Remote no longer works. Attempted to reset remote but light stays on. Any thoughts?

Do the batteries work in another device? Assuming so, try these steps:

Remove the batteries from the remote.
Using your phone or other remote to navigate, go to Settings > Remotes & Accessories.
Select your remote and choose to Forget it.
Choose Pair remote accessory to start a new pairing.
Hold the home button on the remote down and re-insert batteries while holding the button down.
The remote should be detected on the right side of the screen. Use your alternate remote to select it to pair it.
