Chromecast remote not working

My remote won't work. It's a pulsing light. I have tried the following options:

1. Downloaded the TV App, removed the remote, then re-pairing, but it get stuck on the re-pair screen.

2. Tried removing and reinstalling the batteries while holding the home and back buttons.

3. Tried resetting the Chromecast and unplugging and plugging back.

Thanks for reaching out and for doing some steps beforehand — these are of great help! To cover all the bases, could you please try to replace the batteries and test? [Note: Replace all batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not use lithium-ion or any other batteries with rated voltage above 1.5 V].

I tried that already but it didn't work. I was able to resolve the issue by factory resetting the Chromecast.
